ParaDyme System Antenna

If you’re billing yourself an all-inclusive tool for precision ag users, it helps to have plenty of options. On this front, the ParaDyme system from AutoFarm succeeds.

For starters, the system’s dual antenna provides GPS accuracy using corrections via every major network. This includes WAAS, EGNOS, OmniSTAR HP/XP, and RTK. ParaDyme is also GLONASS-ready. Units feature factory-activated wireless communications, which eliminates the hassle of dealing with third-party carriers, external cables, monthly bills, or contracts from a cell service, says the company.

Next, ParaDyme works with a wide array of touchscreen controllers, including the AutoFarm Viper Pro and Edge. The latest addition to this family is the AutoFarm Integra, which features a full-color 12.1-inch touchscreen. “The new AutoFarm Integra is a high-end controller/display that offers a multitude of precision farming features for the advanced operator,” says John Bressler, the company’s senior marketing manager.

Automatic Steering Capable

Coupled with the ParaDyme roof module and any controller, users can equip their machines with OnTrac 2 GPS Assisted Steering. With its split-gear design, OnTrac 2 does not require removal of the steering wheel to operate. The unit simply clamps on and off, allowing for quick transfer across different vehicles.

Finally, ParaDyme users can communicate with their dealers via a Remote Service feature. When the vehicle operator presses the call support button on his controller, the servicing dealer receives a message alerting them to a service request. If the dealer cannot resolve the service request with a phone call, he can access the ParaDyme system remotely to view working data.

“AutoFarm’s Remote Service feature is 100% set up and activated at the factory,” says Bressler. “We’ve taken care of all the hassles like buying your cell phone plan, worries about compatibility with your equipment, and your cell service … all the headaches.”

According to the company, dealers working with Remote Service are pleased with its performance. “Anytime you can save a trip to the field is a benefit,” says Pat McConkey, sales/service specialist, application technologies division for Jenner Sale Corp. “We had one case where AutoFarm ParaDyme was installed on an Accuguide sprayer and Remote Service was used to fix a problem on the spot. It only took a few minutes.”
