ASABE Adopts ISO Standard For Agricultural Sprayers
September 4, 2013 The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has completed adoption of ISO 4254-6:2009, Agricultural machinery — Safety — Part 6: Sprayers and liquid fertilizer distributors.
The adoption, ANSI/ASABE AD4254-6:2009 AUG2013, Agricultural machinery — Safety — Part 6: Sprayers and liquid fertilizer distributors, clarifies the North American design practices for such equipment.
This adoption further harmonizes national and international standardization, a goal that facilitates manufacturing, safety advancements and product marketing worldwide. This standard is part of a group of nearly 40 international standards that ASABE has adopted and published for national use.
ASABE members with standards access and those with site-license privileges can access the full-text of the standard by electronic download in about a week. ASABE is recognized worldwide as a standards developing organization for food, agricultural, and biological systems, with more than 250 standards currently in publication. Conformance to ASABE standards is voluntary, except where required by state, provincial, or other governmental requirements, and the documents are developed by consensus in accordance with procedures approved by the American National Standards Institute.
