On May 1, the Fendt Lodge officially opened in Jackson, MN. Part of the complex that includes Fendt AGCO’s manufacturing facility, the 16,000 square foot building houses meeting rooms, a gift shop, and myriad displays detailing the history of AGCO Corp./Fendt.

According to Eric Hansotia, CEO at AGCO Corp., the Fendt Lodge offers the ag manufacturer the opportunity to accomplish two objectives. “First of all, it’s planting our Fendt flag in North America,” said Hansotia, speaking with CropLife at the opening ceremony. “It shows that we are strongly growing, and we intend to grow even more from here. And second, it’s a place for farmers and customers to experience what the Fendt brand is for themselves, allowing them to interact with us, in the hundreds or thousands each and every year.”

Besides detailing the Fendt brand history, the Fendt Lodge also gives the company the opportunity to promote one of the newest aspects of AGCO’s business to customers – PTx Trimble and its commitment to the ag technology movement.

“PTx Trimble is the joint venture we recently formed with Trimble,” explained Hansotia. “The P is for Precision Planting, which has been one of our technology operations for years, and the T is for technology. Visitors coming to the Fendt Lodge can now see these parts of our business highlighted as well.”

In the near future, the customer-facing offerings at the Fendt Lodge will expand. In fact, according to Joe DiPietro, Vice President Fendt, General Manager North America, the company has purchased some nearby land across the street from the Jackson complex that will ultimately serve as a demonstration area for customers to “test out” Fendt AGCO products for themselves.

“We hope to break ground on this part of the Fendt Lodge this summer,” said DiPietro.
