ADAMA Announces OMRI Listing for Mastercop Fungicide

ADAMA USA has received Organic Material Research Institute (OMRI) listing for Mastercop Bactericide/Fungicide¹, an innovative true solution of copper sulfate pentahydrate with BioRetain technology. The listing indicates that OMRI has reviewed Mastercop against their organic standards and determined it to be an appropriate option for organic operations.

“Distributors and growers now can effectively manage bacterial and fungal diseases in both organic and conventional fields with one dynamite product. Mastercop has been successfully used for some time throughout most of the United States on crops such as fruiting vegetables, grapes, cucurbits, berries, tree fruit, tree nuts, root vegetables, and more,” says ADAMA Asset Manager Brent Marek.

Mastercop is 100% soluble copper, allowing low metallic copper ions to be released instantly and delivered efficiently and effectively for quicker pathogen activity compared to other coppers. Utilizing the formulation technology of BioRetain, a technology that provides higher bioactivity and improved uptake, the smaller copper particle size of Mastercop allows better coverage, distribution and subcuticular penetration. Additionally, Mastercop does not leave a visible residue, which lowers the risk of being removed by wind or rain from the leaf like other coppers².

“Compared to traditional coppers with high percent metallic copper, Mastercop has 5.4% elemental copper. This means that with the same level of control, Mastercop has significantly less risk of phytotoxicity and environmental impact than its competitors,” says Marek.

Growers should apply Mastercop at rates ranging from 0.5 to 6 pints per acre, depending on the crop, disease and season. Always read and follow label specifications.
