Dow AgroSciences Introduces SureStart II Herbicide

Over the years, growers have placed their trust in SureStart herbicide to prevent weed threats from taking over their fields. Now, corn producers can use SureStart II herbicide, an enhanced formulation that offers improved viscosity and emulsion characteristics while still providing a wide application window and dependable weed control growers count on.

The label rates have not changed, so retailers and their customers can continue to apply SureStart II at the same rates as SureStart.

“SureStart II includes enhancements to the existing formulation, making it easier to mix and handle, while continuing to offer outstanding control of the toughest weeds in corn,” said Brittany Loewen, U.S. corn herbicide product manager, Dow AgroSciences. “Dow AgroSciences is committed to putting the best products on our retail partners’ shelves, and SureStart II will give customers excellent weed control throughout the growing season.”

The formulation of SureStart II herbicide offers:

  • Superior product stability
  • Improved viscosity
  • Better emulsion characteristics
  • Enhanced durability under heat

Utilizing three nonglyphosate modes of action, SureStart II controls more than 60 grasses and broadleaf weeds, including herbicide-resistant species such as marestail, common and giant ragweed, waterhemp and pigweed. A wide application window — from preplant through early postemergence — gives growers application flexibility while providing residual control. By eliminating weed pressure early with SureStart II, growers can protect corn during valuable stages of development and optimize yield potential.

“For years, Dow AgroSciences has been recognized as a leader in providing effective herbicide solutions to corn growers,” Loewen said. “The addition of SureStart II to our robust portfolio, coupled with industry-leading technical and sales service and support, displays our dedication to providing retailers and growers innovative and effective weed control products.”

SureStart II is now available for 2015 early fill orders. For more information, contact your Dow AgroSciences sales representative and visit GetMoreTime.com.
