AMVAC Closes Deal for Three Product Line Acquisitions from Adama

AMVAC Chemical Corp. announced the closing of its acquisition of three new products to its portfolio – abamectin insecticide, chlorothalonil fungicide and paraquat herbicide for the U.S. business. All three products were acquired from Adama Agricultural Solutions Ltd., which is part of the China National Chemical Corp. (ChemChina) group.

Eric Wintemute, Chairman & CEO of American Vanguard Corp., parent company of AMVAC, said, “The acquisition of these three products continues the successful track record of providing important solutions to the American farmer for both high value and broad-acre crops. These well-proven technologies will add to our portfolio and diversifying and balancing our category, crop and geographical segments. We believe these products will increase full year domestic sales by 10 – 15%. The technical registrations we are acquiring will provide us with a foundation of technologies upon which we can build additional premix value-added products.”

The acquisition includes the trademarks, product registrations, registration data, and commercial information that relate to the marketing and sale of these three products in the crop protection market within the U.S. The trademarks that now are owned by AMVAC include: Parazone 3SL (paraquat), Equus 500 ZN fungicide (chlorothalonil), Equus 720 SST (chlorothalonil), Equus DF (chlorothalonil), Abba Ultra Miticide/Insecticide (abamectin), Abba 0.15 (abamectin), Abba 0.15EC (abamectin), Borrada (abamectin).

Starting June 6, AMVAC will begin invoicing, distribution and customer service of these products. Retailers and farmers can contact their AMVAC representative or Customer Service for any details of this transition.
