AcreForward Sustainability: A Magnifying Glass for Sustainability Programs
AcreForward Sustainability provides clarity for sustainability programs by delivering the insights, records, and cross-comparison needed to make informed and data-driven enrollment decisions.
“Taranis AcreForward is more than technology—it’s more than drones, satellites, and AI. It’s the ability to put decision-making opportunities at the fingertips of retailers and the growers with whom they serve,” says Taranis Chief Operating Officer, Mike DiPaola. “And those decision-making opportunities lead to better management of resources on the farm and are the catalyst for how every acre tells a story.”
Everything that happens…and everything that doesn’t happen…on the farm is the result of a decision. Everyday decisions fueled by the best information accessible is where production and profit margins are improved. Decision-making is a 365-day responsibility on the farm.
AcreForward Sustainability
As the Product Owner of the Taranis sustainability initiative, AcreForward Sustainability, set to launch in the fall of 2023, Shaul Gazit shares that AcreForward is a tool that allows retailers and growers to act with confidence.
“Taranis dramatically elevates precision agriculture to the new era of digital agriculture. Our crop intelligence capabilities are truly unrivaled. We aren’t just providing that there is a weed or disease problem, we are showing our retail and grower partners a level of specificity that is unbelievable, leaving no question as to what the challenge is and how it can be resolved, or better yet, prevented,” he says.
AcreForward Sustainability provides critical information and a clear opportunity for growers. The product will provide two important sustainability offerings:
- Soil health and sustainability insights for retailers to offer growers.
- Customized information, comparison opportunities, and enrollment assistance for carbon and sustainability programs through and with our ag retailers in the USA.
How It Works
“We want to give our customers the ability to understand their soil health metrics and discover the carbon and sustainability programs which are available for them. This is all about connecting growers with valuable opportunities and allowing them to decide what is best for them, alongside their advisors,” Gazit says.
The AcreForward Sustainability tool shows retailers and growers the different programs available in the market and helps streamline the process of enrollment.
“AcreForward Sustainability isn’t just for carbon programs. We are working across sustainability program opportunities, as well, and have a partnership with USDA to help enrollment in their flagship EQIP and CSP programs,” says Gazit. “We’ve built a one-stop-shop for sustainability and carbon program decisions and enrollment.”
A tailored experience is provided for acreage selected and allows for model simulations of specific practices. The report shows which programs are applicable for enrollment based on the implemented or intended practices.
“We are working with our partners to make the enrollment process for carbon and sustainability programs much easier,” he says. “These insights align perfectly with climate-smart agriculture goals and allow growers to identify the fields with high potential to enroll into several programs.”
