VISION 2023 Shows How Technology Will Shape the Future of Agriculture

The global agtech sector is poised for impressive growth in the coming years with the value forecasted to increase from $18.12 billion in 2021 to $43.37 billion by 2030, according to Precedence Research.

The 2023 VISION Conference brings together pioneers and thought leaders in the agriculture and technology sectors who are advancing innovations in food production, digital farming, and sustainability, while creating a more interconnected and responsive food value chain.

During his keynote address on Day 2 of the conference, EY’s Rob Dongoski, partner and Global Food and Agribusiness Leader, will discuss technology’s role across the entire food system as well as how consumer awareness and changing demands are helping drive wider adoption of technology.

Whether using AI to attract consumers or dynamically price goods on the shelf or the metaverse’s potential to bring a new dimension to omnichannel, the impact on producers, consumers, and everyone in between will be “game-changing,” said Dongoski.

Indeed, the theme of this year’s VISION Conference, Harnessing the Power of Agriculture 4.0, not only focuses on how to expand and capitalize on the wealth of data and analytics that advanced technologies are capturing, it also explores how the entire agriculture ecosystem is working together more closely.

Curt Blades, SVP at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), and moderator for the panel, “Autonomy Makes Strange Bedfellows,” noted that discussing a range of technologies such as robotics, sensors, and the ongoing digitization of agriculture is what really makes the VISION Conference unique.

Blades said the audience may wonder why Courtney Yuskis from Yara, Michele Kaiser from John Deere, and Kent Carrol from TOPCON are all on the same panel with AEM talking about robotics, but each offers a different and compelling perspective on robotics, he explained.

It also demonstrates how seemingly disparate companies in the agriculture industry are all moving forward to embrace technologies that will improve their businesses while simultaneously advancing the broader industry.

According to Yara’s Courtney Yuskis, “The challenge to deliver nature-positive solutions is complex and meeting this challenge will require unique partnerships and collaborations. We must find new ways to work together to enable holistic solutions the encompass the full value chain.”

The 2023 VISION Conference will be held at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa on January 17-18th. To view the complete agenda, see who’s attending and sponsoring, and register, visit TheVisionConference.com.
