October 4, 2022 Helping ag retailers keep employees, customers and communities safe is the goal of the industry’s ResponsibleAg program. If safety is part of your responsibilities at work, reserve your spot in this year’s second ResponsibleAg auditor training course. The comprehensive four-day course, which combines classroom, hands-on and site-related training, will be November 15-18 at the Ford B. West Center for Responsible Agriculture in Owensboro, Kentucky.
ResponsibleAg prepares individuals to conduct safety and compliance audits of retail agribusiness facilities. The class, which is held in a former ag retail center, covers numerous aspects of audits, including how to properly file and maintain environmental health and safety (EH&S) documentation, procedures for inspecting chemical warehouses and requirements for commercial motor vehicle training and recordkeeping.
For retailers with well-developed internal EH&S programs and dedicated staff, ResponsibleAg can complement and reinforce existing programs. For ag retailers without internal EH&S programs or whose managers wear many hats, including safety and compliance responsibilities, ResponsibleAg can be the primary resource to help meet safety regulations without incurring the cost of investing in a full-time internal EH&S team.
