The Significance of AgroLiquid’s C-Tech Being the First to Attain TFI’s Biostimulant Certification

AgroLiquid C-Tech Biostimulant Certified TFI

AgroLiquid recently became the first company to achieve Certified Biostimulant for its C-Tech biostimulant.

On June 26, 2023, The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) officially announced that it was introducing the Certified Biostimulants Program. Nine months later in April 2024, AgroLiquid became the first company to achieve this certification for its C-Tech biostimulant.

“We are pleased to announce that AgroLiquid’s C-Tech biostimulant product has gone through the necessary steps to be recognized as a Certified Biostimulant,” said TFI President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch at the ceremony. “Upon thorough review of their data, research, and methodology, we have confirmed their adherence to industry-established standards, ensuring that among other criteria, proper experimental protocols were followed during efficacy testing.”

According to Rosenbusch, biological products are still relatively new to the agricultural landscape – with plenty of unanswered questions for potential users. “Agronomists have hundreds of products come across their desks every day and they don’t have the bandwidth and resources to evaluate them all,” he said. “The Certified Biostimulant program was created to provide that standard because we want to get them into the hands of more growers, and we want both the ag retailers and growers to have confidence when choosing which product they use.”

Nick Bancroft, President/CEO for AgroLiquid, thanked TFI for honoring its C-Tech biostimulant as the first product to receive the certification. PrimAgro C-Tech is a Bacillus species-containing fertilizer that combines organic acids and live strains of bacteria. It is designed to optimize nutrient uptake and metabolism and prevent nutrient loss through leaching. The product combines microbes with AgroLiquid’s proprietary formulation technology to stimulate plant growth and health.

“C-Tech was launched nine years ago as a biostimulant for improving nutrient uptake,” said Bancroft. “The product is ideal for use in soil types that don’t retain moisture very well. It’s great to have this certification as proof of what C-Tech can do for customers.”
