Channel Introduces 20 New XtendFlex Soybean Products

Farmers will have 20 new Channel XtendFlex soybean products for their farms and fields in 2021. During the 2020 season, these XtendFlex products have been widely planted and evaluated in monitored field trials across the country, providing Channel team members and farmers a reliable assessment of agronomic vigor and yield potential.

“Over the past few months, several Channel brand farmers have participated in XtendFlex Stewarded Field Trials and observed the game-changing XtendFlex soybean trait technology in their fields,” says Alex Barreiro, soybean product manager for Channel. “Results from the expansive field trials can help farmers and Channel Seedsmen be confident in the performance they want and the choice they need with the XtendFlex soybeans on their operations in 2021.”

“Bayer has made a substantial investment in the XtendFlex soybeans portfolio to deliver both strong agronomic performance and high yield potential in all maturities,” Barreiro says.

XtendFlex soybeans are Bayer’s newest soybean, built on the proven performance of the high-yielding Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Technology, now with added tolerance to glufosinate, providing growers with tools to help manage tough-to-control and resistant weeds.

Jordan Bottinger, a St. Joseph, MO, farmer who participated in the stewarded acres program says Channel XtendFlex soybeans are a great addition to his operation.

“Versatility is very valuable to farmers because nothing goes as planned. These soybeans have a very good agronomic package, good emergence, good standability, and the bushing style of the beans is absolutely perfect,” Bottinger said.
