Bill Verbeten
Bill Verbeten is a technical service manager for FMC, covering Wisconsin, northern Illinois and eastern Iowa where he is the technical expert on the FMC fungicide, herbicide and insecticide portfolio. In his position, Verbeten supports sales team members in these territories and coordinates research with land grant universities and third-party researchers. Coming from a broad agronomy background, Verbeten has served retailers, growers, agronomists and crop consultants from the perspective of extension and distribution during his career. In his role prior to FMC, he served as a technical agronomist at Helena Agri-Enterprises, providing customers with precision fertility recommendations and hybrid ratings, as well as education on herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. Before that, Verbeten worked as a regional agronomist for Cornell Cooperative Extension, specializing in forages, crop fertility, malting barley and precision agriculture. These experiences sparked a passion for practical application chemistry, whether in fertility or pest management, to find information that helps explain a problem and leads to impactful grower solutions. Verbeten holds a master’s degree in agronomy and dairy science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also earned a bachelor of science in agronomy and crop science.
