WHAT THEY NEEDED
J.R. Simplot Co. was looking to expand its existing dry fertilizer capabilities at its St. Anthony, ID, location to better serve their local customers. The location had specific parameters to be considered, and business growth mandated they take advantage of available space.
WHAT WE DESIGNED
Marcus Construction took the opportunity to get innovative with the bin design to be able to maximize the storage capacity. The new building would have to accommodate storage as well as blending, and tie into the existing building without interrupting the ability to expand. Between Marcus Construction and Ranco, they were able to meet the requirements that Simplot needed. The new dry fertilizer storage building has a declining weight blending system and ties into the existing building, allowing Simplot to continue to grow by expanding to its existing resources.
