Farmer-Founded Spirit. It’s In Everything We Do.

When Iowa farmer Dennis Albaugh founded our company in 1979, it wasn’t just a business decision. It was born out of first-hand experience in the field. He wanted to give farmers more affordable options to protect their crops from planting to harvest. Dennis mortgaged his house to buy a used truck and a supply of crop protection products and began serving his neighboring farmers.
From those humble beginnings, Albaugh was built by a farmer, for farmers.
While we’ve grown far beyond that one-truck operation, the same farmer-founded spirit and the idea that farmers deserve access to high-quality, cost-effective solutions continues to guide everything we do.
Today, Albaugh remains family-owned and headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, proudly rooted in the same community where it all began. Now a global enterprise and the largest privately held supplier of crop protection products in the world, Albaugh offers an ever-expanding portfolio of post-patent and innovative crop protection products, seed treatments, and turf and ornamental solutions. Our independence allows us to stay closely aligned with the needs of farmers, and delivering value, reliability, and service to retailers through our distributor partners.
Albaugh’s commitment to serving growers is backed by strong domestic capabilities. Our U.S. manufacturing and packaging operations are based in St. Joseph, Missouri – strategically located in the heart of the Midwest. This location puts us within a one-day transit time of 65% of the U.S. corn and soybean acres. It also gives us significant operational and logistical advantages that support distribution to customers across the country.
At the core of Albaugh’s success is the same promise Dennis made on day one: delivering high-quality products and exceptional service at competitive prices. It’s how we continue to unlock the power of choice for our customers and honor our farmer-founded roots every day.
