Herbicide Contains Multiple Modes Of Action

Monsanto Co. has added an acetochlor premix formulation for pre-emerge and post-emerge use in corn to its corn herbicide portfolio. The product will be marketed as TripleFLEX Herbicide for the 2011 crop season and will broaden the company’s weed management portfolio.

“The ability to offer TripleFLEX is a positive step in our continued efforts to provide farmers with the choices to ensure multiple modes of action when it comes to weed management,” says Matt Helms, Monsanto crop protection marketing lead. “Our goal is to bring simplicity to weed control, and TripleFLEX will be an excellent addition to a portfolio that is designed to do just that. We see TripleFLEX providing growers the flexibility that fits directly into a Roundup Ready Corn system.”

Helms says TripleFLEX contains three modes of action, with a flexible window of application in one product. The product will control a broad spectrum of grasses as well as small and large seeded broadleaf weeds such as pigweed, lambsquarters, waterhemp, velvetleaf, and ragweed species.
