Wheat Growers Doubling Down On Agronomy In 2015

Wheat Growers member-owners served by the Mellette and Tulare locations will see new agronomy service centers open for business next spring. Improved seed and chemical handling as well as additional storage capacity will mean better service for Wheat Growers customers.

“This will give us a greater opportunity to expand our chemical inventory, and our seed loading will be almost twice as fast. Plus our Tulare area member-owners will have more bulk seed choices,” Casey Buchholz, Wheat Growers’ Tulare Location Manager, says. “This new facility will also give us greater precision ag capabilities, including planter calibration and installation.”

The Mellette Agronomy Service Center will have the location’s office, seed and chemical handling all under one roof, replacing the three separate locations that currently exist.

“It’s going to be the foundation of our expanding agronomy business, where our customers can come to one place and get everything they need,” Robby Geuther, Wheat Growers’ Mellette Location Agronomy Manager, says. “There will be more bulk chemical on hand, as well as added bulk seed tanks. We’ll have a lot more products readily available that we’ll be able to store and have on hand.”

Footings have been poured and concrete work has been completed on both locations. The Mellette and Tulare agronomy service centers should be ready for agronomy business by the middle of March 2015.
