Provide Your Crops a ‘Boost in the Right Direction’ This Spring
“Environmental risks” – it’s a term that causes every farmer his or her fair share of concern when planting time comes around.
But products like K-Row 23, a liquid sulfur and potassium source that is seed safe even on the most sensitive crops, delivers reassurance. The product can be used as an in-furrow starter application to support early plant uptake.
K-Row 23 is an ideal starter fertilizer offering access to nutrients early in the planting season while helping to protect young seedlings from those two dreaded words: environmental risks.
By applying K-Row 23 in-furrow, growing plants have more immediate access to the nutrients they need. Supplying crops with essential potassium and sulfur immediately can be especially critical if planting conditions turn cool and nutrients like sulfur may not be as readily available.
Research trials in the Midwest have shown that adding K-Row 23 can boost yields in both corn and soybean. On average, K-Row 23 increases soybean yield by 2 to 4 bushels per acre, and in some cases even more. These results varied depending on the product rate applied, soil moisture, and other field conditions.
Aside from being a seed-safe form of potassium and sulfur at germination, K-Row 23 also offers a low salt-out temperature, which is critical for early season planting conditions.
“With today’s input cost and market pricing, you want to make sure your crop is positioned to produce the best return,” said Elizabeth Eickhoff, a Crop Vitality agronomist for Tessenderlo Kerley. “Adding K-Row 23 to the starter program in the spring gives an early boost in the right direction.”
