Bob Maxwell, owner of Midwest Service Company, approached Ranco about providing equipment for a new storage and blending facility in Tekamah, NE. He has a Ranco declining weigh system at his site in Ainsworth, NE and wanted to repeat the success he’s had with that equipment at the new facility.

They had an old Ranco volumetric blender in Tekamah (dating back to 1987) and made the decision to upgrade with a completely new facility, bringing all operations onto the same property. They now have five main ingredient hoppers, and were able to reuse some smaller Series II hoppers from Ainsworth. This equipment was sized for his operation at 150 tons-per-hour.
The building is filled with an overbin belt conveyor and tripper to maximize the fill capacity of each available storage bay.
The new system is controlled by Ranco’s Mesh DCS, allowing for full functionality to operate all the equipment. When a job ticket is completed, the information will be shared back to the office for billing through their enterprise software.
