WHAT WE DESIGNED
1.5 million gallon Field Erected Tank (FET) plus piping a two-bay load-out facility with 24-7 capabilities.  Constructed a 92- X 32-foot tall field erected tank with internal bladder for storage of 32% UAN. 32% UAN can be loaded into the FET utilizing a truck load-in system located between the two bays and plumbed underground with HDPE dual contained pipe.

To load-out 32% UAN, we plumbed from the FET to the pump with six-inch stainless steel pipe and then went underground with dual contained HDPE pipe to a central manifold inside the building.

The customer designed the outside product dike for future growth. To start, Cooperative Farmers Elevator (CFE) purchased five 30,000-gallon Precision Tank vinyl ester resin fiberglass tanks for storage of ATS and starters. Each tank has its own pump and motor and is plumbed with six-inch stainless steel pipe above ground and HDPE dual contained pipe underground to the central manifold inside the building.

We installed one future load-out line from the outside dike to the central manifold for a future product offering.

Products offered through the central manifold: Water, 32% UAN, ATS, Starters plus one future for eight total through main manifold and each bay has its own Mass Meter for speed and accuracy.

Two-Bay Building
CFE utilized their own design team for the building and concrete and local companies for the construction process.

  • Fertilizer Receiving FET: Bays No. 1 and No. 2
  • Product Dike Receiving: Bay No. 1
  • Bottom Load-out: Driver and passenger side — both bays and separate starter load-out Bay No. 1

New: Six Precision Tank 5,100-gallon 316 SS Chemical Tanks plus two Customer Supplied Chemical Tanks. All the chemical piping is 316 SS which adds flexibility for future chemical compatibility.

Chemical Receiving

  • In Bay No. 1
  • Individual load-in ports and top fill lines.

Chemical Load-Out Lines

  • Individual chemical mass meters
  • Hot load in both bays
  • Repack:
  • Scaled in-chem warehouse
  • Hose reels to the back of a truck — metered
  • Two SS Venturi Systems w/ hopper
  • One per bay for hand adds
  • Two four-place mini bulk racks
  • One corn and one beans
  • Both plumbed to a manifold with their own mass meter, flushed with water, then injected into line, and blown out with air.

This facility was designed for the future, with minimal hands on for the workers plus speed and accuracy for CFE’s customers.

Trucks can be loaded out simultaneously in both bays during business hours and after hours utilizing the 24-7 capabilities.
