A leading agricultural operation needed a high-capacity fertilizer storage and logistics facility designed to withstand corrosive environments while supporting efficient bulk material handling operations year-round. With help from Legacy Building Solutions, the company received a durable, low-maintenance structure engineered specifically for the demanding fertilizer industry.

WHAT THEY NEEDED
The customer required a large-scale fertilizer storage and logistics facility capable of sup­porting high-volume material handling opera­tions while maintaining long-term structural du­rability in a corrosive environment. The facility needed to provide substantial covered storage capacity, accommodate integrated conveyor systems, and include advanced ventilation and moisture management features to protect stored product quality throughout all seasons.

Because of the Midwest climate, the build­ing also needed enhanced snow and ice management capabilities along with superior corrosion protection to extend the life of the structure and minimize maintenance require­ments. Operational efficiency, durability, and environmental performance were key priorities throughout the design process.

WHAT WE DESIGNED
Legacy Building Solutions designed and manufactured a custom fabric structure system featuring an 80- x 440-foot primary structure paired with a 65- x 315-foot lean-to addition for expanded operational functionality and storage flexibility.

The completed facility provides more than 55,000 square feet of covered storage and logistics space utilizing precast concrete walls and Legacy’s EpoxxiShield COR Elite frame finish to deliver superior corrosion resistance in aggressive fertilizer storage conditions.

The building incorporates a comprehensive water mitigation system, integrated ice breaker technology, and 44 ARV roof vents to optimize airflow and reduce moisture accumulation within the facility. The structure was also engineered to support suspended conveyor systems and additional hanging loads critical to daily operations.

Finished with blue and white ExxoTec fabric cladding, the facility delivers long-lasting durability, abundant natural daylight, and a clean, modern appearance while supporting efficient agricultural distribution operations year-round.
