AGCO’s Mark Mohr (middle), then the company’s Marketing Manager, receives the MAGIE Showstopper Award last August from CropLife Iron magazine Editor Eric Sfiligoj and Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association President Jean Payne.

While many people attend the annual Midwest AG Industries Exposition (MAGIE) in Bloomington, IL, to see what’s new in the world of ag retailer/agricultural equipment, there are also a few trophies to be won. For more than 10 years now, CropLife IRON® magazine, in conjunction with show sponsor Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association (IFCA), have handed out the ShowStopper Award. This trophy, shaped like a stop sign, is presented to the exhibitor that has the “best in show” product at its booth, as voted on by the attendees. In 2018 AGCO Corp. was awarded the prize for its new TerraGator C Series unit.

“It’s great to be recognized by attendees of MAGIE for all the hard work our company has put into remaking the TerraGator C Series for the agricultural market,” said Mark Mohr, then-Marketing Manager for AGCO, accepting the 2018 ShowStopper Award. “This means so very much to all the people who made this product a reality for our customers.”

Sales Manager Mark Sievers, on behalf of Sievers JCB, accepts the first-ever MAGIE Image Award last August, presented by Jean Payne, the President of show sponsor Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association. The honor was bestowed to the show exhibitor with the best overall booth display.

MAGIE Image Award

In 2018, in addition to awarding the ShowStopper, IFCA introduced a new award at the show — the MAGIE Image Award. As IFCA President Jean Payne explains, the idea behind this honor is to recognize the exhibitor that “goes all out and beyond” in its entire MAGIE exhibit display.

“We wanted to acknowledge all the hard work many MAGIE exhibitors put into making their whole booth area look spectacular,” Payne says. In 2018 the first MAGIE Image Award went to Sievers JCB.

Both the ShowStopper Award and MAGIE Image Award will be announced at the tailgate party Wednesday evening, Aug. 21, at the MAGIE food tent on the fairgrounds.
