Self-Propelled Sprayer: 1990s Style

Remember the 1990s? There was the start of the Internet Age, PIXAR movies with the release of Toy Story and Bill Clinton in the White House.

In ag equipment, Willmar Manufacturing was busy making a line of self-propelled sprayers featuring the Air Ride name. One of these models was the 745, which featured a John Deere engine and 60-foot boom. On the road, the unit could do a brisk 13 miles per hour.

Still Kicking Around

In 2011, CropLife IRON had a chance to visit an ag equipment dealership, Ohio Valley Ag, in Owensboro, KY. At that time, the company was refurbishing a 1995 Willmar 745 sprayer that had 3,149 hours on it.
