Rankings of any kind are often top heavy. Take the newly released CropLife 100, for instance. Of the 100 companies on the list, only seven firms generated more than $1 billion in retail sales in 2018. In total, this top-heavy group had $20.5 billion in retail sales in 2018, which is an incredible 67% of total CropLife 100 sales. On average, the retailers in this group made $2.9 billion, served 27 states, and had 376 retail outlets. The top seven retailers consist of five independent dealerships and two cooperatives, and, a bit of an oddity, three now call Colorado home.
