BRANDT Commemorates National Ag Day

The Illinois agriculture community gathered at BRANDT global headquarters to celebrate National Ag Day behind this year’s theme Sustaining Future Generations. An estimated 200 Ag professionals, FFA members and distinguished guests joined Governor Bruce Rauner and Director Philip Nelson in honoring the agriculture industry and celebrating the abundance provided by American farmers.

“I want to thank BRANDT for hosting us today,” said Governor Rauner. “And I want you to know that I’m all in for the agriculture industry.”

In addition to Governor Rauner and Director Nelson, speakers included David Erickson, VP of the Illinois Farm Bureau; Marty Marr, Board Member of the Illinois Corn Growers Association; Carrie Winkelmann, District 9 Director of the Illinois Soybean Association; and Karl Barnhart, Chief Marketing Officer of BRANDT.

“When we heard the theme of today’s event — Sustaining Future Generations — we were thrilled that we would have a chance to be a part of this,” said Barnhart. “We’re a multi-generational family business. But while we’re proud of the family participation in the business, we’re most proud of the fact that we have served multiple generations of customers.”

A special Ag Day Proclamation was issued by the Executive Department of the State of Illinois declaring March 18, 2015 as Ag Day in Illinois. The Proclamation was presented to the Brandt family and the employee’s of BRANDT for their contributions to agriculture and taking a leadership role in sustaining future generations of agriculture professionals.

“On behalf of the 500 members of the BRANDT family, thank you,” said Glen Brandt, Founder of BRANDT, about the Governor’s Ag Day Proclamation. “We work as a company to be stewards of agriculture, ensuring future generations will continue to lead our vital industry to help feed, fuel and cloth the world.”
