Monsanto Named One Of The World’s Best Multinational Workplaces

For the third consecutive year, Monsanto Co. has been named to the list of the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces by Great Place to Work. This year, Monsanto ranked No. 8 in the world’s largest annual study of workplace excellence that identifies the top 25 best multinational companies in terms of workplace culture.

Monsanto moved up six places to reach number 8 on the 2014 list. Monsanto is the only St. Louis-based company and the only agriculture company recognized again this year.

“We are grateful to again be recognized on this year’s list of top multinational workplaces,” said Steve Mizell, Monsanto executive vice president of human resources. “This award recognizes the collaborative efforts of all our employees around the world and their dedication to working in partnership with others to deliver innovative agricultural solutions.”

To be eligible for the Top 25 World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list, qualifying companies must have appeared on at least five national Great Place to Work lists, have at least 5,000 employees worldwide, and have a global workforce where at least 40% of their employees work outside the company’s home country.

In 2014, China, Belgium, France, Netherlands joined the list of countries where Monsanto was named in national Great Place to Work lists. The company was also named on lists in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Central America and India. Monsanto has more than 22,000 employees around the world.

Third party organizations continue to recognize Monsanto as an employer of choice. In 2014, Monsanto also received awards recognizing its employees’ innovation, leadership, and workplace satisfaction by Forbes (World’s Most Innovative Companies), Science Magazine (Science Careers Top Employers), CR Magazine (100 Best Corporate Citizens), Computerworld (100 Best Places to Work in IT), DiversityInc. (Top 50 Companies for Diversity), MIT Technology Review (50 Smartest Companies) and Chief Executive (40 Best Companies for Leaders).
