BIOTROP Gains Traction in U.S. Market, Reaches $1.3 Million in First Year of Sales
American farmers are beginning to get to know and use BIOTROP’s modern biological technologies, a global bio-inputs company and part of the Biofirst group, a world leader with annual revenue of US$ 580 million. In its first year of sales in the U.S., the company reached US$ 1.3 million in business.
BIOTROP is offering biofungicides, bionematicides, and soil conditioners, products especially aimed at soybeans, corn, wheat, cotton, and peanuts to American farmers.
“The amount is modest, but symbolic. Our priority is to accelerate our presence in the United States, the largest agricultural inputs market in the world. We are investing on several fronts. The first step was to set up a research unit in Gainesville, in partnership with the University of Florida. At the same time, we began structuring our local team and started the process of registering 14 biological products in the USA,” reports Jonas Hipólito, president of BIOTROP.
“Our portfolio is backed by fieldwork conducted with farmers from various US states. In 2025, there were 185 trials on American farms, in addition to partnerships with universities and research centers. In 2026 we are conducting another 170 experiments, strengthening our commitment to proving the effectiveness of our products and showing US farmers that BIOTROP solutions are effective, sustainable, and contribute to increased profitability,” says Matheus Gueratto, head of business in the United States.

Demonstration field trials in North Florida showcase BIOTROP’s biological solutions at Birdsong Peanut, a major peanut producer and processor serving the Southern U.S. market.
With operations in the Americas, European Union, and other parts of the world, BIOTROP develops, formulates, manufactures, and markets high-quality biological products that help plants better absorb nutrients, tolerate stresses, and increase productivity. The company was founded in 2018 in Brazil and grows, on average, over 30% in annual sales. In 2025, the company’s technologies were applied on more than 100 million acres globally, demonstrating the high quality and performance of the products. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities have a production capacity of 13 million gallons per year, ensuring consistency in each batch in terms of concentration and microbial strains.
In the U.S., BIOTROP products can be found at 14 commercial partners, including CNI, a distributor of agricultural products that serves independent agricultural retailers, BIOTROP’s newest partner in the country.
