WHAT THEY NEEDED
Facing growing demand across the northern territory of Utah, IFA set out to develop a centralized agronomy hub that could handle dry fertilizer, liquid fertilizer, and seed storage, all while improving speed, scale, and service. With their nearest facility located 30 minutes away and constrained by limited capacity, IFA recognized the opportunity to leverage rail access to procure products more competitively and move it to customers more efficiently. Having not built a new agronomy facility in over 15 years, IFA was looking for a true turn-key partner to guide them from permitting through construction, while also introducing new considerations like automation and modern material handling.

Marcus’ rodless or free-standing bin wall design allows IFA to maximize their storage space by being able to stack their product to full height while also being able to cycle their bins independently (one bin can be full, while the next one can be empty).

WHAT WE DESIGNED
By consolidating all scopes under a single point of contact, Marcus delivered a strategic, scalable operation built for long-term growth for IFA. Built on a greenfield site, the solution centered on a fully integrated site design, including; a 5,200-ton dry fertilizer facility with seven bins and in-floor heat in the alleyway, a 16,800-square-foot Nucor pre-engineered metal building featuring warehouse space for both seed and chemical storage and an attached two-story office, an exterior containment dike for liquid fertilizer, and railroad installation.
