CPDA Applauds House Agriculture Committee Passage of Farm Bill

The Council of Producers & Distributors of Agrotechnology applauds Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson and members of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture for advancing the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 through committee, an important step toward delivering the certainty farmers and rural communities need.

“A strong farm bill provides the foundation that farmers, rural communities, and the entire agricultural supply chain depend on,” said Terry Kippley, President and CEO of CPDA. “From risk management and conservation programs to research and innovation, the farm bill helps ensure American agriculture remains productive, competitive, and resilient.”

Kippley noted that farmers rely on access to modern crop protection technologies to protect their crops and maintain strong yields while meeting environmental and sustainability goals.

“Farmers need access to a wide range of proven crop protection tools and technologies to manage pests, protect yields, and continue producing the safe, affordable food that Americans depend on,” Kippley said. “CPDA appreciates Chairman Thompson’s leadership and the bipartisan work of the committee to move this legislation forward.”

CPDA members develop, manufacture, and distribute many of the post-patent crop protection products, adjuvants, and enabling technologies used by growers across the country. These products help ensure farmers have cost-effective options to protect crops, maintain productivity, and steward the land.

“After years of delay, farmers and rural America need the certainty that only a new farm bill can provide,” Kippley continued. “CPDA encourages Congress to build on this momentum and work quickly to pass a final farm bill that supports farmers, strengthens rural economies, and ensures the United States remains the global leader in agricultural production.”

The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 now moves to the House floor for consideration.
