The American Society of Agricultural Consultants (ASAC) is proud to announce that John Jackson, a Certified Agricultural Consultant (CAC) and a dedicated member of the organization for more than 40 years, has been recognized with the ASAC Certificate of Lifetime Membership. The honor was officially announced during the 62nd Annual Meeting and Conference held in Indianapolis in November 2025.

This prestigious recognition follows closely on the heels of Jackson receiving the ASAC Lifetime Achievement Award at the 60th Annual Meeting and Conference in Fresno, California, in 2023. The Certificate of Lifetime Membership serves as a testament to Jackson’s exceptional dedication to the agricultural consulting profession and his four decades of service to ASAC.

Throughout his distinguished career, Jackson’s expertise and work ethic have left a lasting impact on the global agricultural landscape. His consulting experience spans the globe, including significant projects in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, and Central America, as well as throughout the United States.

“John’s career represents the pinnacle of global agricultural consulting, combining deep technical expertise with a level of professionalism that has mentored generations of consultants,” said Pete Weisenberger, ASAC Past President. Bill Zweigbaum, current ASAC Board Member and Past President, added, “His selfless dedication to the industry, from international development to local American agriculture, exemplifies the very best of what a Certified Agricultural Consultant should be.”

John’s professional journey has been a lifelong collaboration with his wife, Sharon, who has also been an active figure in the consulting profession. Born and raised in Western Illinois and graduates of Western Illinois University, the couple’s commitment to service began immediately after graduation when they enlisted in the Peace Corps. Since then, they have worked side-by-side to improve agricultural practices and quality of life for communities worldwide. Beyond the professional achievements, Jackson notes that his four decades with the society have resulted in cherished, lifelong friendships with fellow consultants across the nation and the world.

“I am deeply honored by this recognition from ASAC and am grateful for the opportunity to have spent my career serving the agricultural community alongside such esteemed colleagues,” said Jackson.

Most recently, the Jacksons have been instrumental in developing agricultural programs on Indian reservations in Colorado and the Southwest United States. While John focused on consulting, Sharon provided essential management services for numerous companies in their adopted hometown of Great Bend, Kansas.

Due to the significance of the honor, Weisenberger and Zweigbaum traveled to Kansas in December to personally present the award to Jackson during a special dinner in Hays, Kansas. John and Sharon Jackson continue to reside in Great Bend and are the proud parents of two children, Ian and Lareesa.
