Belchim Crop Protection Granted U.S. Patent for Pyridate + HPPD Chemistries

Belchim Crop Protection USA has announced that the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted Patent 12396459* for pyridate + HPPD chemistries (a class of herbicides that prevent growth in plants by blocking 4-Hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase).

Tom Wood, President and General Manager of Belchim USA, commented “We are very excited as we have been waiting a long time for the issuance of this patent. We were confident about the synergistic effect of TOUGH® 5EC (pyridate), having years of research, proven with the Colby formula. In the U.S., pyridate is sold under the brand TOUGH 5EC Herbicide (EPA 91746-5) registered for use on Field Corn, Popcorn, Chickpeas, Lentil and Mint.
