CHS Captures Back-To-Back Top 100 Minnesota Workplace Honors

CHS Inc., a farmer-owned cooperative and energy, grains and foods company, has been named one of the top 100 places to work in Minnesota by the state’s largest newspaper, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis. The Top Workplaces 2013 rankings were released on June 16 and are included in a special section of the Star Tribune’s print and web editions.

“We at CHS are especially honored to be named a Top Workplace. It’s a great reflection of our strong commitment to the farmers and local cooperatives who own this company, and the goal of helping our owners grow,” said Carl Casale, CHS president and CEO.

“While this recognition is Minnesota-based, we believe it reflects our workplace culture throughout the U.S. and in the 24 other countries where we have employees,” he added.

Nearly 1,900 Minnesota companies and organizations were invited to participate in the survey, and more than 64,300 employees from these organizations participated. The survey was conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. A random sample of about half of the roughly 1,500 CHS employees in Minnesota with email addresses – including those at our Inver Grove Heights, MN, headquarters, as well as other energy, grains, processing, Country Operations and Business Solutions locations – were invited to participate in the survey. CHS is honored to rank in the top 100.

Tom Traub, CHS vice president Human Resources, said the ranking supports the company’s focus on attracting, retaining and developing a committed, engaged employee team.

This is the second year CHS has been recognized as a Top 100 Workplace. In 2012, the company ranked 22 among large companies.
