Stueve Construction Helps Two Ag Retailers Better Serve Customers
We’re celebrating our 60th year exclusively by “Leading the Industry” in the planning and construction of dry fertilizer, bagging warehouse systems, liquid fertilizer terminals, ag chemical and seed warehouses, and office solutions. We have the expertise to be your one-stop shop, providing experience and in-house engineering that is second to none. Stueve Construction helped these two premier ag retailers — Nutrien Ag Solutions in Holdrege, NE, and Glenn County Farm Supply in Artois, CA — continue to better serve their growers with speed, efficiency, and accuracy.
What Nutrien Needed
“Fertilizer has been the cornerstone of our business for over 100 years at Nutrien Ag Solutions. Our goal was to plan and build a hub facility that would serve our farmers much faster with precision today as well as for the future.”
— Mark Secor, Nebraska General Manager
“We toured many facilities and considered several builders for our project. Touring facilities gave us valuable input and ideas from others on the things they may have changed after they went through a few seasons of operations.”
— Stan Knuth, Marketing Manager
“Our facility has many safety-related features built into our design, with a double catwalk system, rail fall protection, and stair access to the catwalk and micro bins from our elevated control room. This gives us a safe environment for our employees and outside trades when working in our hub facility.”
— Chris Salisbury, Holdrege Terminal Manager
“Stueve Construction’s impressive durable facilities, quality construction, vast experience, and exclusive in-house engineering set it apart from other builders we considered for our project. We had a very tight site area and needed to maximize our footprint. Stueve did an excellent job on keeping our project on point as we executed our construction phase.”
— Kelly Swanson, Location Manager
“Nutrien Ag Solutions is a valued trade partner and customer of Stueve Construction. We have continued to work very hard at listening, understanding, and incorporating their ideas and needs into efficient greenfield facilities and select building projects. Our dedication to them is coming up with the best solution that will give them a great and durable facility that will last a lifetime!”
— Reynold Franklin, CEO, Stueve Construction
What Glenn County Farm Supply Needed
Colusa/Glenn County Farm Supply Inc. is a full-service independent retail business in Williams, CA. GCFS has enjoyed agriculture growth over the past decade, with most of that growth expanding past its capabilities of fully servicing its customer base from one location. GCFS was looking to expand its retail presence in adjacent Glenn County and purchased an old seed-cleaning facility that had rail access. GCFS had a vison of creating another full-service crop protection and dry fertilizer storage facility with the ability to store large volumes of bulk fertilizer with blending capability, along with utilizing the rail service with a 2,700-foot rail spur.
“That’s when we started contacting the experts at building dry fertilizer storage facilities. We found that Stueve was the industry leader in constructing and engineering high-quality and large storage facilities. Their in-house engineering team helped with the permitting process, and their construction crews worked in a very professional and timely manner,” General Manager Terry Talbot says.
With this investment, GCFS was able to meet the demands of its customers and diversified crops in Northern California.
