WHAT THEY NEEDED

Coastal AgroBusiness’ Dillon, SC, location serves thousands of acres of crops with a wide variety from cotton to corn. They came to Sackett-Waconia because the site’s blending system needed replacement and upgrade. The company wanted a horizontal system, the ability to load-out more trucks and tenders and the ability to easily create complex blends with liquid additives. Add in a new fertilizer building, and the facility would be a fresh start that offers expanded service to local growers.

WHAT WE DESIGNED

The AccuBlend system Sackett-Waconia designed for them features five major weigh hoppers and four liquid dosing systems (for micronutrient and/or trace element additions), and Sackett Waconia’s Orbital precision blender. The system’s individually weighed ingredients are NTEP certified to provide traceability and remove the need to weigh out before heading to the field. The SmartBlending software adds the flexibility to change rates and/or ingredients on the fly. Meaning that, each batch can be completely different from the one prior — but every batch is consistent and homogenous from start to finish.
