ModernAg First to Introduce MagGrow Spray Technology to Great Plains Region

ModernAg with MagGrow spray technology

The MagGrow system delivers a more consistent spray profile, resulting in higher levels of pesticide coverage within the plant canopy.

ModernAg, Inc. has partnered with MagGrow, an ag-tech firm based in Ireland, making ModernAg the first to introduce MagGrow’s innovative spray technology to growers in Kansas, Nebraska, and Northern Missouri.

With conventional crop spraying, approximately 70% of spray does not reach its intended target, resulting in drift, runoff, and wasted input materials and cost. The MagGrow system delivers a more consistent spray profile, resulting in higher levels of pesticide coverage within the plant canopy. This allows growers to achieve higher coverage while using their current application rate, or the same coverage using a lower application rate.

The patented, proprietary technology passes pesticides through magnetic fields under appropriate flow conditions and changes the physical properties of the fluid to optimize the spray droplets and deliver both superior spray drift control and crop coverage. Increased spray coverage performance can range from 20% to well over a 100% compared to conventional spraying.

The MagGrow spray system is a simple and reliable two-component system with no moving parts and virtually no maintenance and is compatible with any sprayer brand and any boom width.

MagGrow has partnered with Trinity College, Dublin around pure research through its Science Foundation Ireland’s supported AMBER (Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research) facility. They also have IRES (Industrial Engineering and Research) and Crop Science facilities in the UK.

“Reducing drift while maintaining proper coverage has always been a challenge with sprayers,” says Nick Martin, General Manager of ModernAg, Inc. “The MagGrow system helps maintain a consistent droplet size while increasing effectiveness through more consistent canopy coverage, and ModernAg is proud to offer this solution to growers in Kansas, Nebraska, and northern Missouri.”

Gary Wickham, Co-Founder & CEO of MagGrow explains, ‘’MagGrow are delighted to be partnered with Modern Ag to deliver our award-winning technology to growers in the region. MagGrow is a technology and IP company and science is fundamental to delivering our world-class precision agricultural solutions to growers everywhere. It improves coverage by 20% + and reduces drift by up to 70%. The system also reduces water usage by up to 50% as well as spray events. As a result, farmers are typically seeing a return on investment of less than a year on chemical savings alone.”
