What Are the Best Agriculture Colleges in the World Right Now?

It’s time again for Growing Produce to list the world’s best agriculture colleges. Some higher learning institutions shine brighter than others, according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which has just released its latest QS World University Ranking by Subject report.

Compiled and presented annually by the U.K.-based education marketing and networking company, the comprehensive listing is based on a methodology that measures multiple indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact gathered from universities across the globe covering 54 different disciplines. According to QS, this year biggest marks its biggest ranking yet, featuring more than 15,700 different academic programs from 1,594 institutions – 103 of which are new.

Each of the subject rankings is calculated using multiple sources. Per QS, the first two of these are global surveys of academics and employers, which are used to assess institutions’ international reputation in each subject. The second two indicators assess research impact based on research citations per paper and H-index in the relevant subject. These are sourced from Elsevier’s Scopus research citations database. Lastly, International research network (by broad faculty area) fleshes out the sustained international research collaboration of an institution.
