Redefining Ag’s Future: How Galynn Beer and Tidal Grow Plan to Lead the Sustainability Shift
Agriculture is in a constant state of flux. Whether it is new products and methods, there is always something new — or a new way — to do something. That can also be said about the people adopting those changes. Galynn Beer, formerly with AgroLiquid, joined Tidal Grow AgriScience, a division of Tidal Vision Products Inc. as Vice President of Global Sales in June. We talked with him about the change and what he hopes to accomplish in his new role.
CropLife: What was it about Tidal Grow AgriScience that drew you to the company?

Galynn Beer
Galynn Beer: When I was presented with the opportunity, the first thing I considered to join Tidal Grow AgriScience was the team of people I would work with. For a company to be successful, you need a group of disciplined, committed, and intellectually capable people. Tidal Grow has got this covered. There is extensive agricultural experience at Tidal Grow that is committed to finding solutions for farmers to navigate some of the toughest challenges in the industry. For Tidal Grow AgriScience to succeed, the grower must succeed. Their contribution to growers’ success must start with the people, and that was an important part of my decision.
Additionally, the culture at Tidal Grow emphasizes open communication and information sharing. There was a lot of transparency during the interview process, and it wasn’t just contrived. You could tell this was the expectation at Tidal Grow. It’s easier to ideate and make sure products are positioned for value when the team is comfortable challenging each other’s ideas. Thorough vetting provides better outcomes, and that is how Tidal Grow operates.
CL: How does Tidal Grow’s mission align with the future of sustainable agriculture—and why is now the right time for the industry to take notice?
GB: Timing can be everything in any business, and fortunately, the timing is right for Tidal Grow. There was a time in agriculture that using a term like ‘sustainable’ escalated a farmer’s blood pressure. It wasn’t that farmers weren’t good stewards practicing constant improvement, but the word ‘regenerative’ or ‘sustainable’ felt like it was going to bring a significant cost without offsetting profit opportunity. Now, farmers have had time to realize that additional profits can be realized—and more solutions exist today for this to be a reality. That means that regenerative practices can produce more revenue than costs. Tidal Grow has invested in accelerating the learning process of regenerative solutions to ensure that our products produce better profits for the grower. The timing is right because of where the industry is, because of how our customers—including the general public—look at us, and because of where the mindset of the grower has progressed to. Why should the industry take notice or trust us? Really, that’s on all of us at Tidal Grow to offer solutions that deliver on ROI that also support climate-smart practices. No one has to take notice, but we’re determined earn the trust from throughout the entire supply chain.
CL: What makes you a good fit for the role?
GB: Agriculture has always been my passion. I feel my career has consisted of constant learning. This industry teaches you something new every day. Every experience, good or bad, has taught me something. When I combine that with an educational background in finance, I hope it helps me add value to the team from my perspective on the industry. Having the pulse of our customer gives me some insight for positioning products and ultimately, benefiting the growers. I always look for feedback directly from growers. That will help Tidal Grow accelerate adoption of new products to market with a localized feel and associated benefits at the grower level.
CL: What are your short-term goals for the company?
GB: My first short-term goal is to help drive brand awareness for the company and products in the market—to make some noise! Simultaneously, it’s critical for us to expand sales representation in key growth areas with the right people on board—and equipping them to succeed is imperative to long-term success.
CL: Looking further out, where do you see the company going?
GB: I think the environment is right for a rapid growth phase. Tidal Grow may be one or two years from that rapid growth, but there is momentum and increasing visibility for the company and products. With the current conditions in the industry, I think growers will see benefits from Tidal Grow products that will increase market acceptance and provide sustained growth for the company in the long term. By providing the growers flexibility to delay and make more informed decisions in-season, then have the products from Tidal Grow’s portfolio to utilize once a decision has been made, I can see how the industry might shift from preloading crop inputs to adding them as needed. It would be better utilization of capital for growers which would sustain long-term growth for Tidal Grow.
It is exciting to be at the front end of an industry shift. With growers becoming more focused on the soil that crops are grown in, as well as more natural solutions that keep beneficial variables viable, opportunity to be a part of this abounds. This shift in focus creates a lot of opportunities for Tidal Grow to play a part by innovating products with targeted benefits and easily fit into any grower’s management practices. It’s exciting to be a part of creating ‘wins’ for the grower. If the grower wins, then Tidal Grow will win. Solutions that can easily be adopted by growers create excitement for what else is possible for the future.
CL: What else should we know about you and/or the company?
GB: Tidal Grow, and I as part of the team, will be relentless in creating and delivering products that can add value to the industry. We know it is competitive, and the economic climate can create additional challenges, but competition benefits the end user because better value is required to be delivered. The companies and people who embrace change and constantly innovate tend to be the ones that achieve longevity. Tidal Grow is prepared to meet agriculture’s toughest challenges.
