Spreaders: Dry Flies High

Manufacturers will be bringing a host of spreaders to test drive at the Midwest Ag Industries Exposition (MAGIE) and other summer events.
Lime/Fertilizer Spreader, Adams Fertilizer Equipment
Adams Fertilizer Equipment will be showing its Four-Wheel Lime/Fertilizer spreader, which creates 50-foot fertilizer and 30-foot lime spread patterns using a 16-inch 304 stainless steel mesh conveyor chain and adjustable material distribution chute. The 90-by 120-inch hopper is sloped downward at both ends and sides to allow material to slide down the well. It’s precision-built for durability and spread accuracy. The full line of ground drive and adjustable width spreaders also will be available.
Wheel Track Spreaders, Ag Systems
Ag Systems features a full line of adjustable wheel track spreaders to fit a wide variety of row widths. The 304 stainless steel-constructed box is bolted to a heavy-duty tubular chassis for strength and improved durability. The spreaders are simple to maintain and operate for years of reliable service. Ag Systems spreaders are available in 5-, 6-, and 8-ton sizes, along with a single-axle 5-ton model.
AirMax 1000, AGCO
Available on the Ag-Chem 9203 Terra-Gator chassis, AGCO’s AirMax 1000 offers high volume output (up to 1,200 pounds per acre) and high volume capacity (300 or 345 cubic feet) and can be coupled with AGCO’s Air Spreader — which features a 26-inch distributor head, the largest in the industry.
FLX Series, Case IH
The Case IH FLX Series chassis are available in both 3- and 4-wheel configurations with a power choice of either 305 or 365 hp. A 6-speed Allison 3000RDS automatic transmission is standard on all FLX Series chassis. The chassis are equipped with the Surveyor cab that features 113 cubic feet of interior space and 67 square feet of glass providing excellent operator comfort and visibility. They can be equipped with the FLX810 Flex-Air applicator for accurate, uniform application of dry fertilizer, micronutrients, and granular herbicides. The FLX 810 is available in single-, double-, or triple-bin configurations and an optional 500-gallon liquid system. The choice of 60- or 70-foot boom width options allows users to fully customize a FLX810 Flex-Air applicator.
FTLH-EXW, Chandler Equipment
Chandler Equipment’s brand new fertilizer and lime spreader is the FTLH-EXW. It features a wider spread pattern of 90 feet for fertilizer and 60 feet for lime. The standard model has a 110-inch wide hopper and a 24-inch wide 304 stainless steel mesh type chain. Options include a 120-inch wide full flare hopper, belt-over-bar or straight bar-type chain. And its new design allows the FTLH-EXW to be installed on almost any type floater chassis and is available in 11-, 12-, and 13-foot models. All Chandler spreaders can be equipped with variable-rate controls from TeeJet Technologies or Raven Industries.
Mobility 6-Ton Row Crop Dry Fertilizer Spreader, Dalton Ag Products
Also on display will be Dalton Ag Products’ Mobility 6-Ton Row Crop dry fertilizer spreader, built rugged for today’s high-speed field needs. Its large capacity gives more acres per fill. Lug-type tires reduce compaction and side hill drift, while the adjustable axle and 42-inch tires give a ground clearance of 40 inches under spinners and 47 inches under frame.
L3030G4 300-cubic-foot New Leader Spin Spreader
The John Deere 4930 is fitted with an L3030G4 300-cubic-foot New Leader spin spreader capable of spreading 25% to 50% wider than most other leading units. With up to 105-foot spread widths, the patented adjustable spinner assembly allows quick, accurate settings for variable-rate applications broadcasting materials farther and wider with consistent spread patterns. The L3030G4 box is controlled with the new John Deere SpreadStar controller.
Clipper 200, Dempster Industries
Dempster Industries’ Clipper 200 features adjustable wheel spacing for 20-, 30-, or 36-inch row crop application. The unit’s 540/1,000 rpm double-belt drive allows its use in either PTO speed. Clipper 200 models are also designed with adjustable track spacing.
Ground Wheel Drive Pull Type Spreader, Doyle Equipment
Doyle Equipment’s 5- and 6-Ton Ground Wheel Drive Pull Type spreaders are heavy duty with all-metal press wheel assemblies and manual engagement handles and linkages. They feature gear boxes, spinner mounts, and 8-inch mesh conveyor chains all made of stainless steel. Hoppers are #304 stainless steel.
Fusion, GVM
GVM’s Fusion spreader body features a dual hopper removable insert and unique patented PWM (pulse width modulation)-controlled, 24-inch stainless steel spinner spreader design for constant pattern, whether broadcasting one or two products simultaneously. For granulars, it provides a 90- to 105-foot spread pattern. The twin hoppers are situated at an even height for easy loading and roll tarp installation. The 304 stainless steel inverted V-shield keeps excess weight off the belt. It can be connected into a Viper differential GPS controller for variable-rate application.
