Horsch Sprayer Wins ShowStopper Award at MAGIE 2022

For the past 14 Midwest AG Industries Exposition (MAGIE) shows, CropLife IRON magazine has been proud to present its annual ShowStopper Award to the product that generated the most “buzz” among attendees. In the past, the major equipment manufacturers have tended to dominate the voting. In 2022, however, a newcomer took home the top prize.

The winner of the 15th ShowStopper trophy was Horsch, LLC for the company’s newly launched LEEB VL self-propelled sprayer. Accepting the award at the annual MAGIE Tailgate party on August 24, Peter Ovrebo, Marketing Product Manager, Crop Care, thanked the show’s organizers, the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association, and CropLife IRON for the stop sign-shaped trophy. “It’s an incredible honor,” said Ovrebo of winning the 2022 ShowStopper Award. “We definitely wanted to get the name out to customers, but we never envisioned winning such a prestigious award as this!”

The Horsch LEEB VL self-propelled sprayer comes in three different model types – the 5.300 VL, the 6.300 VL, and the 8.300 VL. Designed with either polyethylene or stainless steel product tanks, the units have tank sizes ranging from 1,320 to 2,113 gallons, with boom lengths between 100 and 133 feet. Built with a Tier V 408 cubic-inch, six-cylinder FPT engine, the units are capable of 310-hp. Horsch LEEB VL sprayers are equipped with a pneumatically spring-loaded chassis, which the company claims guarantees a stable road and field handling at high speeds.
