Wheat Growers, North Central Say Yes To Unification
September 28, 2017 In a letter to industry partners this afternoon, Chris Pearson, CEO of Wheat Growers in Aberdeen, SD, announced that Wheat Growers membership and the membership of North Central Farmers Elevator have approved a proposal for unification. The effective target date is February 1, 2018.
“Until the unification is complete, we will continue to operate completely separate from one another,” noted Pearson. “For now until the proposed closing on Feb. 1, it will be business as usual for both our cooperatives and each will continue to independently compete in the marketplace.”
The yes vote completes an effort to unite the cooperatives that dates back to 2015.
