The McGregor Co. has purchased Ritzville Chemicals, Inc., Ritzville, WA, an organization whose employees offer more than 140 years of combined experience in the business. The transition for the smaller company has been “easy.”
“Although it’s (McGregor Co.) a larger company, it has a similar work ethic and business structure. That made it a nice, easy transition for us, although we are transitioning into a larger company,” says Ritzville’s Howard Reimer. “The McGregor Co. has a sense of community.”
Ritzville Chemicals, which Howard and Linda Reimer put on the selling block last year, will now be able to provide its grower-customers expanded services. Reimer and the rest of the staff will stay on board. Although the business name has changed to The McGregor Co., doing business as Ritzville Chemicals, minimal changes are planned in signage and procedures. The phone will still be answered ‘Ritzville Chemicals.’ The McGregor logo will don pieces of equipment while trucks will retain the Ritzville Chemicals logo.
Reimer says the change has provided a major boost for Ritzville Chemicals, noting the additional expertise, equipment, technology, and manpower. For example, the smaller company will switch to computerized sales and shipping with the arrival of new computers and software. “One of the bigger assets is equipment. We have more access to equipment,” Reimer adds.
