How the GROWMARK, Indigo Ag Partnership Delivers a New Seed Solution

Earlier this week, GROWMARK and Indigo Ag announced a biologicals and sustainability-based strategic extension of their partnership. The two companies first collaborated in 2021 with a joint effort to spur participation in the growing market for agricultural carbon.

The most recent partnership is tied to Indigo Ag’s recently launched CLIPS system.

“The device is an automatic hands-free system, which saves time, removes the hassle factor in the seed treatment process, and potentially upends standard biological seed treatment applications,” the company announced in September. “Indigo Ag’s CLIPS is unlike any other dry powder application system for bulk seed box containers. It provides fast, reliable application of dry powder formulations, in this case, Indigo’s proven biological lineup, while sidestepping restrictive on-seed stability and planting window concerns.”

Jon Giebel, VP Product Strategy, Indigo Ag

CLIPS provides ag retailers with a new tool to help their grower-customers manage their seed purchases. CropLife® magazine spoke with Jon Giebel, VP Product Strategy, Indigo Ag, to learn more about CLIPS and its latest partnership with GROWMARK.

“This would be included in the seed purchase and added to the seed box before it is delivered to the farmer,” says Giebel. “This step is a natural evolution of the ongoing collaboration between the two companies.”

The CLIPS system “allows application of flowable powders in the off-season,” Giebel says. In addition, it “eliminates hands-on mixing and creates less mess during planting and extends on-seed stability of biological seed treatments.”

The system fits into the company’s Biotrinsic approach – the brand of biological solutions for agriculture, developed by Indigo Ag.

“These products are designed to improve plant health, increase yields, and enhance overall crop performance,” Giebel says. “They are plant-based and provide several benefits including: enhanced drought- and heat-stress tolerance, improved water and nutrient use efficiency, boosted root and plant growth, increased disease resistance, and improved yield potential.”

Indigo Ag’s relationship with GROWMARK allows the latter company to sell CLIPS to its customers, “making it easier for them to access the benefits of biologicals,” Giebel says.

“Both companies are excited about what this might mean for future offerings and the potential of integrating the CLIPS system with other flowable powder products.”
