Precision Laboratories Launches Series Of Mixing Videos

Precision Laboratories recently launched a series of four water quality and compatibility videos to aid retailers and growers in eliminating costly tank mixing errors that can reduce crop protection product efficacy and cause product contamination. The videos can be viewed on YouTube at www.youtube.com/MixTankApp.

With tank mixing popularity increasing, Precision Laboratories developed four training videos focused on proper mixing technique and sequence, water quality, spray solution pH analysis and water conditioning agents. Each video highlights the importance of correct tank mixing techniques and unique factors that often cause costly tank mixing errors. To help growers and custom applicators avoid lost spray time and compatibility issues, the videos feature tips to avoid cross contamination, wasted product, and plugged sprayer equipment. The videos compliment the Mix Tank app for iPhone and iPod touch that was launched on March 1st. To download the new app, visit http://bit.ly/MixTank.

The first in the video series, Proper Mixing Technique and Sequence, explains the importance of a compatibility test to ensure mixability prior to adding product to the tank mix. Precision Laboratories offers a compatibility test kit to test for these issues.

Water Quality Testing, the second video, explores the impact of hard water on the performance of glyphosate and how customers can determine the hardness level of their water source. High pH levels can break down certain crop protection products, resulting in reduced performance.

The third video, Spray Solution pH analysis, clarifies the importance of checking the pH level before mixing and applying crop protection products.

Water Conditioning Agents, the final video in the series, details how simple tests can be used to determine the performance of various water conditioning agents.

“At Precision Laboratories, we are focused on providing the best possible information and that’s why we developed educational videos focusing on four common factors that applicators face when mixing crop protection products,” said Jim Reiss, vice president of Agricultural Chemistries at Precision Laboratories. “Our goal is to reduce costs and maximize performance for our customers. As more tank mixing occurs, it’s our responsibility to explain the importance of proper mixing technique to help them increase efficacy and overall efficiency.”
