Belchim USA’s TOUGH 5EC Herbicide Adds Seed Corn, Popcorn and Lentils to Label
May 31, 2022 Belchim Crop Protection USA (Belchim USA) has announced that its TOUGH 5EC Herbicide, a fast-acting, selective, contact herbicide, has been approved by the EPA for use in combating actively growing broadleaf weeds in seed corn, popcorn, and lentil crops. This follows the EPA registration that was previously approved to enhance control of actively growing broadleaf weeds in corn, mint, and chickpeas, received by Belchim USA in September 2020.
TOUGH 5EC is especially effective on Waterhemp, Pigweeds, Palmer Amaranth, Kochia, Common Lambsquarters, and Black Nightshades. It is even effective on strains resistant to other more-commonly used herbicides, like glyphosate and HPPDs. Featuring pyridate as its active ingredient, TOUGH 5EC provides enhanced control when used as labeled. Especially effective when used as part of an integrated weed management program, TOUGH 5EC can also help combat weed resistance, resulting in higher quality crops.
