Ostara Delivers Crystal Green Phosphate Fertilizer Under New Brand Name, CG P2X

Previously marketed as Crystal Green® fertilizer, CG P2X delivers the same Phosphate Perfected™ advantages while clearing the way for new innovative technologies from Ostara. CG P2X is a phosphate fertilizer designed to replace traditional phosphate fertilizers delivering nutrients only in response to crop demand, resulting in less product applied per acre, increased yields and at no additional cost per acre.
“CG P2X more than doubles plant-available phosphorus and nitrogen, far outperforming any traditional ammonium phosphate fertilizers,” explains Ron Restum, chief commercial officer at Ostara. “CG P2X offers an innovative replacement for traditional ammonium phosphate fertilizers, giving growers the most efficient, sustainable and economical phosphate fertilizer on the market.”
Created through 15 years of innovative research and development, CG P2X achieves yield and soil health goals, even when applied at a significantly reduced rate per acre. Plus, this unique fertilizer helps ensure nutrients remain nearly 100% plant available.
“Traditional phosphate fertilizers only offer 10% to 30% availability,” Restum says. “These losses typically occur due to soil tie-up, runoff and leaching. CG P2X is not water soluble; nutrients are only available in the presence of organic acids naturally released by plant roots. Clearing the path for advancement
The brand change, Restum says, reflects the robust, innovative pipeline at Ostara. The new name honors the pioneering brand: CG references Crystal Green; P2X points to delivering twice the amount of plant-available phosphate fertilizer.

CG P2X is produced by Ostara – a U.S.-based company – at its state-of-the-art facility in St. Louis. CG P2X is available through most ag retailers for the 2026 growing season.
