Ford Tough

For visitors to the crop fields of West Central Minnesota, many might not believe their eyes. There, still working the application circuit is at least one Ford F-700 truck circa 1979. This workhorse unit features a 475 horsepower gas engine and is equipped with an 8-ton ground-driven Tyler spinner box.

According to the unit’s owner, Pro Ag Farmers Co-op of HeĀnning, MN, this seasoned Ford F-700 is used each and every year by the retailer, applying product to approximately 1,000 to 1,500 acres. In particular, says the cooperative, the Ford F-700 is useful in smaller fields because “there is nothing to fold out,” allowing the user to “just get in gear and go.”
