U.S.-Based Agriculture Company Steps Up to Answer Supply Chain Disruptions

ORCAL, Inc. in Junction City, OR, is privately held, located in the Pacific Northwest, and takes immense pride in being a U.S.-based manufacturer. Most of their raw, inert ingredients, packaging and labeling are sourced in the U.S. The production and procurement teams are dedicated to keeping products stocked, taking strong inventory positions, and sourcing for 9-12 months in advance allowing them to remain a consistent producer for customers.

Tim Wasko, Vice President at ORCAL, says, “Supply chain issues are real, but sourcing and manufacturing locally helps keep our economy strong and lets us deliver to our customers without delay.”

The company continues to grow, adding sales territories in Florida and Georgia. After a recent acquisition of property to expand its production capabilities, ORCAL hired Territory Sales Manager Bill Davis to serve farmers and retail partners in Florida and Georgia. This is the first step in ORCAL’s goal to service both the west coast and east coasts. As the prices of most crop protection products rises because of challenges in the supply chain, ORCAL continues to increase production here in the U.S. to answer that challenge.

“I am really excited about joining the ORCAL team and expanding ORCAL’s presence throughout Florida and Georgia! Working with distribution partners to help growers, and to solve problems is something I’m looking forward to and I can’t wait to be a part of the process,” says Davis.

Wasko says, “As ORCAL continues to expand nationally, we are thrilled to welcome Bill Davis to our team to represent us in the southeast! His knowledge, experience, and integrity are a welcomed asset to the territory. Our growth can be attributed to excellence in research and development, being USA-made and manufactured, maintaining sustainable and ethical products and production methods, and strong customer relationships. I’m very excited for this supported expansion and the opportunities that it provides for the marketplace, as well as for the growth of ORCAL as a company.”

To support the entire sales team and its customers, ORCAL also hired Parker Allen to head up the role of Technical Sales Rep. Allen earned his degree in Field Crop Management from Washington State University Pullman. Before joining ORCAL he interned and worked field trials with Helena Agri-Enterprise’s research group. In his new role, he will be responsible for working closely with ORCAL’s Research and Development, Regulatory and Quality Control Departments, focusing on crop yield data collection.

“I am eager for the new opportunity and challenges that ORCAL presents, as well as furthering my knowledge and growing the business into new territories and crops,” says Allen.

Steve Horn, Co-Owner of ORCAL says, “As we have grown and expanded into new markets, there are additional opportunities to educate and share more about our product lines. Parker Allen has been coordinating and running field trials at the farm, university, and third-party levels. We believe he will be a tremendous resource out in the field and internally, complementing our R&D team. We have a ton of product data and trial information. Parker’s experience and focus on consolidating that information and filling the gaps for new crops and applications will continue to make us stronger and a better resource for our customers.”
