CropLife’s Year in Review: The 10 Biggest Stories of 2024

Every year in the U.S. ag retail industry (and agriculture as a whole), there are usually one or two stories that tend to dominate headlines throughout the calendar. Last year, it was the ongoing celebration of the 40th anniversary of the CropLife 100, the annual ranking of the largest U.S. ag retailers. In 2022, it was the return of in-person events. In 2021, carbon credits and glyphosate’s future were top of mind for many of us.

This year, as was the case in 2020, the prevailing theme that commanded our attention was dicamba. Of the top 10 most read stories on our website this past year, three of them were related to the latest on dicamba regulations. Whether it was the industry’s reaction to an Arizona Court’s ‘disappointing’ dicamba decision in February, or how the EPA took swift action on existing stocks for dicamba products, the high-level interest surrounding the valuable control tool for resistant weeds was felt throughout the year.

As we put 2024 behind us, we thought the time was right to look at the developments (and dicamba-related content) that have most caught the attention of readers this year. The slideshow above shows the 10 most-read CropLife.com stories in 2024 in terms of views, unveiled in descending order.
