For 11 years now, visitors to the annual Midwest AG Industries Exposition (MAGIE) show have been tasked with voting for their favorite product to help determine the CropLife IRON ShowStopper Award. At the 2017 event held in Bloomington, IL, about 350 attendees took part in the ballot casting. More than 30 products — many of them new introductions this year — received at least one vote, which were collected by our ShowStopper girls (see last slide). To find out which product won the ShowStopper award — and view 10 other new products that generated buzz at the show — view the photo slideshow above.

Once the votes were counted, the 2017 MAGIE ShowStopper winner was the RoGator C Series from AGCO. RoGator C Series machines and LiquidLogic system will help operators simplify their jobs, reduce potential for off-target application, make cleanout faster, easier and more thorough, and reduce product waste. The newest Prowler in GVM’s line-up was introduced at MAGIE. Named the T380, the new GVM Prowler offers multiple enhancements and upgrades to the already impressive chassis. The T380 Prowler features 4-wheel steer for easy navigation, and increased, 12-ton capacity with added air-leveling suspension, more flotation and higher clearance with LSW tires, a fully auto steer and ISO ready cab, individual nozzle control, and new spreading options.

The new Case IH Trident 5550 liquid/dry combination applicator is the industry’s fastest converting combination applicator on a row-crop chassis, according to the company. It’s engineered from the ground up to be changed from liquid to dry and back again throughout three seasons of use. The Trident 5550 Liquid System offers the latest Case IH application technology, including AIM Command FLEX advanced spray technology.

RBR Enterprise introduced its new Vector 300 row crop applicator with AxleTech Variable Track Axles at MAGIE this year. This first-in-kind applicator features mechanically-driven steerable axles that allow for a full 15-inch extension per side, 150% more than the extension of competing designs. At the push of a button, the operator can adjust the axle track width from the cab using a touch screen. There are five preset track widths to accommodate varying row crops: 114, 120, 132, 138, and 144 inches, as well as crab steering for hillside operation.

HARDI responded to the ever increasing demand of farmers for greater spraying ability and efficiency by launching the new Rubicon 9000 sprayer. The unit comes with main tank of 9000 liter (2,200 gallon) capacity and offers the possibility to treat tall growing crops in no time by allowing spraying speeds of up 20 mph. Despite its massive appearance (booms of 120 to 160 feet in width), the unit is very easy to handle and offers unparalleled driving comfort.

Introduced earlier this year at the National Farm Machinery Show, New Leader’s NL5000 G5 once again drew a lot of attention at MAGIE. The G5 dynamically and simultaneously adjusts the spinner assembly left/right and fore/aft to give the operator a highly responsive and reliable method to apply the right amount of nutrients in the right place.

John Deere introduced the AB485 Air Boom option to its F4365 High-Capacity Nutrient Applicator to give ag service providers and large-scale crop producers greater control in the application of dry fertilizer, while covering more acres per day. The new air boom option allows operators to more accurately apply dry fertilizer across a wide 70-foot swath at speeds up to 30 mph, and at maximum rates up to 1,200 pounds per acre at 10 mph.

After almost 20 years of operating as one of the nation’s leading distributors of front boom, high-clearance sprayers, Oxbo International introduced its own 7550 high-clearance, front-boom sprayer (pictured) and 4013 high floatation, three-wheel drive spreader at MAGIE.

The all new Model TT2000 Tender from KBH Corp. features a stainless steel hopper frame, steeper slopes, 10% larger capacity, and a lighter trailer. The unit has 1,065 cubic feet total capacity, a low center of gravity, and stainless steel augers and shafts.

The new Timpte Super Tender SL 4000 series uses a hydraulic belt system to unload 26 tons of seed/fertilizer in minutes. In one hour, the versatile trailer can be converted into a standard conventional grain trailer, by removing the hydraulic belt system. The trailer improves efficiency, eliminates many seasonal tenders, and gives a much higher return on equipment investment dollars.
