CDS-John Blue Pump

To cater to the ever growing demand for high quality metering pumps, the CDS-John Blue Co. has introduced its newest additions to the company line-up — the NGP (Next Generation Pumps) family. Available in flow rate models ranging from 21 gallons per minute (NGP-6055) to 68.4 gallons per minute (NGP-9055), all NGP pumps feature the same engineering qualities as CDS-John Blue’s existing L and LM Series pumps. The NGP series features two single piston models and two double piston models, depending upon the type of pump required by the user.

Improved features

All NGP pumps have been upgraded to improve their performance life. Among the features are the following:

•   A new single, one-piece valve cap allows the user easy check access without removing the hoses, providing for easier service when the unit is in the field.
•   A new outboard cylinder, which allows the unit’s plunger packing to be inspected or replaced without removing the hoses.
•   New main shaft seals now incorporate a dual wiper that is enclosed in a grease cavity to flush out contamination and increase the pump’s operation life.
•   A new check valve design features the addition of an o-ring seal. This offers enhanced priming and is more forgiving in handling debris, says the company, improving overall accuracy.
•   Universal piston rod seals now comes with a three stage dynamic design. The units’ primary wet end “V” packing, primary crankcase “V” packing, and secondary crankcase o-ring seals work in unison to offer multiple stage protection between the wet end and crankcase. This reduces pump weepage and increases pump life, says the company.
•   Standard main shafts. Standard single and double piston pump crankshafts are universal in the NGP line to allow for modular upgrades such as clutches and on-the-go variable rate.

In addition to these features, all larger capacity double piston NGP pumps comes standard with a common inlet and outlet manifold. This manifold can be removed for independent pumping chambers allowing dual flow divider usage or half width applications. This offers the user more flexible, says the company.
