Recker will speak on the role that passion has played in moving the industry to this point and the importance of passion in the engineering community to create even better and more productive products. According to Recker, “It’s not just the company and talent that makes a difference, it’s the passion that each individual finds to make his idea or concept survive and thrive in what I call the Brutal Free Enterprise System. “

Recker will outline his models of corporate behavior that cause innovation to happen or not happen in the commercial world and offer help for young engineers to succeed in an increasingly global and competitive environment.

Since his retirement from Deere & Company in 2008, Bob Recker has devoted his time to leveraging his industrial experience and tools to improve the profitability and global competitiveness of the American farmer.

Recker says, “I’ve spent a lot of time in my career traveling the world working on solutions for farmers large and small everywhere. I’m amazed at the productivity of the agricultural industry — and yet that same productivity makes it very competitive — what I call ‘The Brutal Free Enterprise System.’ I’ve chosen to spend this part of my retirement doing what I love to do: looking at all the pieces of a “system” in a different manner and putting them together in a fashion that is a better than the sum of its parts.”
